For Tuesday, a cut off low dominates the weather of the eastern half of the country. The low has a core of cold air at its center. This has lead to the possibility of a little bit of snow in the southeast. Also, cold air will be pulled down from canada behind the low reinforcing the cold behind the system.
By Wednesday, the system begins to push up the east coast. The core of cold air will expand to cover most the eastern half of the country.
A better chance of snow for central Indiana on Wednesday morning. Totals for now look to be from 1-3 inches. However, some of this will melt on contact.
