Long Range Nov 7-11

Forecast updated 10:00am EST - 4 Nov 2011

After a few nice mild days, a strong jet moves through the area on Monday night/Tuesday, bringing with it a low pressure system. As the jet moves through, precipitation develops with the low and could bring us showers on Tuesday and Wednesday.

This map shows the jet stream on Tuesday at 15Z, as the low starts to develop. This jet has strong winds associated with it that will bring this low pressure system into our area.

The map below shows the formed low pressure system on Wednesday at 15Z. Behind it is some advancing cold air advection, which could drop our temperatures into the upper 40s on Thursday.

The chance for precipitation on Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday looks moderate, as depicted by the 850mb Height, Temperature, and Wind map plotted below. Our 6 hour total precipitation is near an inch on Wednesday at 12Z. After the low moves out, Thursday and Friday look to be sunnier, but colder.
