September 28th, 2011 Short Range Forecast

The cut-off low that has been with us for the past week looks to be finally getting the kick it needs move out of our region. A cold front should sweep by the area on Thursday night bringing with it very cool temperature for the weekend.


The figure above shows the low pressure over the Great Lakes region. This map is at the 850mb with Temperature and wind at 1200 today, the 28th.

This figure above shows the cold front about to push through the area on Thursday night. Behind this front will be quite cool air moving in this weekend, as the High pressure behind it moves in. This map is on 1200 on the 29th at the 850mb level with temperature and wind.
