Short Term Outlook

Forecast updated 2:00pm EST - 30 Nov 2011

After yesterday's snow event, thing will be relatively calm. With the next few days, a high pressure system will build in over the West Lafayette/Lafayette area. With this, some warming and drier conditions are expected.

Below is a forecast image for 12pm tomorrow (Dec. 1) showing temperature, pressure, and wind speed (at 850 mb, aproximately 5,000ft above the ground). The pink arrows show a streamline of the winds as they relate to incoming warm air. Over our area winds are mild, reaching just over 10 mph. This incoming air will warm us to the mid 40's tomorrow.
