11-2-12 Long Range

This big forecasting story to focus on for the upcoming week is the potential for a strong cold front to move across the Plains and into the Great Lakes region on or around the 12th of November. The temperature gradient predicted over the country at 850 mb is shown below. This shows the strong gradient from over 9 degrees in Lafayette to -15 degrees over eastern South Dakota. This will probably bring heavy snow to the upper Midwest and potential for storms and rain over the Lafayette area.
