Aug 31 short range outlook

Forecast updated 2:00pm EDT - 31 Aug 2012

Remnants of Hurricane Isaac continue to progress north dropping rain on Arkansas and Missouri. It is expected to turn eastward due to interaction with a front and affect Illinois and Indiana. Rainfall estimates yielded by the NAM model show a maximum of 7 inches of rain in central Illinois, whereas the GFS model predicts twice as much.  The actual values are likely fall closer to the NAM which is shown.

Here at Purdue, expect rain to affect Saturday football plans from the start of the day onward. Expect moderate rainfall to continue through Sunday. Local accumulation should be more than what can be seen on the image from the NAM.
