Oct. 19th-Long Term Forecast

The map below shows the 500 mb height and absolute vorticity on October 22nd at 15Z.  There is a vort max over the Indianapolis area, indicating a region of high positive vorticity.  This indicates rotation in the atmosphere, which can cause precipitation.  The surface model indicates precipitation over the Lafayette region, but not a substantial amount-less than 0.01 inches.  There is also a slight warm front with winds from the south/southwest, and the warmer temperatures should stay around throughout the week.  The precipitation will only be light and scattered and will move through the area quickly.
