An area of high pressure is moving in from the northwest, bringing cold but dry conditions to the midwest. These cold temperatures are affecting areas as far south as Oklahoma and Texas. Precipitation is currently occurring in Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina, with most of this precipitating as light to moderate rain, with some light snow happening around the Tennessee/ Virginia border due to slightly colder temperatures. There is also some spotty precipitation in the southeast, possibly resulting from warm advection in the area.
