As predicted a system of winter weather moved through the state on Monday afternoon brining a variety of precipitation to the area. What started off as sleet and freezing rain in the LaPorte and Fort Wayne districts turned to snow by later in the day with accumulations over 2.5", even more closer to Lake Michigan. The same occurred in the Crawfordsville and Greenfield districts too; northern portions received snow accumulations around 2", and in the south, near Indianapolis, the maximum was around 1". Southern districts did not see any snow accumulations, but the pre-existing snowpack could have led to light snow accumulations. State-wide on Monday night road surface temperatures fell below freezing, making driving conditions particularity dangerous.
