Short range weather discussion 5 October 2011
The dry and warm conditions will continue for our area for the rest of the week and into the weekend. A strong high pressure over the Tennesse Valley is creating a ridge over the Eastern U.S., bringing a warm, southerly flow. This is what is bringing such warm and dry conditions to our area. Temperatures can be expected to reach near 80 during the daytime, and cool to the low 50s at night with clear skies. A trough continues to build into California and the Pacific Northwest, bringing much cooler conditions and precipitation to that area of the country.
