Chris Severe Weather
The threat for severe weather exists for March 23 at 12z through March 24 at 12z across the Midwest/Ohio River Valley and further South.
Very strong mid-level and low-level lapse rates will be the source of instability across the Ohio River Valley, especially with the cold air pool in the cutoff low.
Differential vorticity across the 700-400 mb levels will provide a source of lift across the same region.
Good CAPE values with rich moisture further south will also enhance convective storms down south.
Biggest threat would be hail and damaging winds, with the possibility of low topped supercell storms and tornadoes.
