PoPs increase as we head into Thursday as a trough digs into the region depicted by the map below. Q-vectors Thursday point towards areas of convergence placed over our region, creating areas of cloudiness and precipitation. The third map below depicts a line of frontegenesis stretching from the Hudson Bay to the lower Great Lakes, coinciding with forecasted precipitation. Precipitation amounts should be generally light through the period. Temperatures are expected to approach 50F Thursday.

Friday through Sunday should bring tranquil weather as areas of high pressure sit over the region. The map below, for Friday, shows the first high pressure system in place of the previous cold front the day before. The second map, for Sunday, shows another area of high pressure over the region ahead of an advancing cold front to the west in the Central Plains. Temperatures through this period are expected to range in the mid to upper 40s for highs and lows in the lower 30s.
